An unofficial sequel to the 2001 documentary DOGTOWN AND Z BOYS, Milan Spasic and Julie Angel's film takes a look at the state of contemporary pool skating, featuring many of the original skaters who revolutionized the sport in the '70s. It's a wild ride through the backyards of southern California, as these dedicated pool skaters--some of them now pushing 40--do whatever it takes to find the perfect spot to ride. Their tactics range from simply ringing doorbells and asking permission, to posing as pool cleaners, or sneaking in and draining pools surreptitiously; the commitment and passion of longtime adherents of the sport is palpable. The filmmakers visit the original Dogtown pool where the scene began three decades ago, when skateboarding transformed from a land-bound activity for surfers into a subculture and lifestyle in its own right. The legends responsible for that transformation, such as Tony Alva, Steve Alba, Lance Mountain, Dave Reul, Brian Patch, Sam Hitz, Omar Hassan, Darrell Delgado, and many others, all make appearances here, in an inspiring look at how they are still at it today, doing what they love to do on a permanent summer vacation.
