Lame. Lucas sucks the begining of the end was Ewoks killing Storm Troopers with pebbels. Yes there is many more Star Wars stories to tell but Lucas has already proven with episode one two and three he needs to step down and let others expand the truths he started a good Bard makes way for others cuz a true a good story line is always above the author to some degree and Star Wars proved that in many ways. If Lucas was truly humble he would allow others to do such things but we will see.but in the end Lord bless for Star Wars Empire Strikes Back and Return of The Jedi.

i wish they would have kept the same nimation on board from the

Clone wars series but as long as the story is as good it won't matter...much.

so, count me in.

I'd like to say that I'm above feeling excited about this... but...

if the musicical score feels right and the action is good, I can totally see myself getting carried away with this show.

God forgive me.

Great art, stupid story. If Lucas is going to tell more stories about SW why not something new like what happens after episode VI. Episodes 1 threw 3 don't exist to me, they were stupid, mindless Fanboy drivel. Suck it Fanboys your movies blew and Jedi's do not make good characters.

I would love to see a cartoon from the books that were written after episode 6! Great material i would see, it will probally never happen because Lucas is milking this stuff. Such a shame.

I saw the prequels on opening night and was underwhelmed across the board. I have little faith in Lucas anymore and will probably wait until video. That is unless I have some great weed!

Lucas is a stubborn guy lol. He keeps rehashing the clone war period to avoid anything regarding events and characters of the original trilogy.

Are the same writers who worked on the previous Clone Wars series working on this one? If so, I'm totally on board. The writing and story for the animated Clone Wars was better than Episodes 1-3 put together. I agree that Lucas should explore the Star Wars saga after Episode 6, but until then, a well written series about the Clone Wars will do!

I can only hope it's better than the Cartoon Network series, which was all style and zero substance.

It's interesting how Lucas has realized that you if you continue to f**k up your movies with too much bad CGI, you might as well go 100% CGI.

Then when people watch your 100% CGI crap movie its crap directing, crap acting, and now 100% crap CGI, they'll forgive you because it's "just a cartoon".

Star Wars, and the Star Wars mythos, is a classic case of "being too close to your subject". When the original series was created, Lucas was still a fairly new director and writer, and had the ability to have a large amount of perspecitve regarding his universe. But then, Star Wars went from Enjoyable and Innovative Sci-Fi film to...well...a pop-culture phenomenon. And phenomenons are very prone to falling under their own weight. Case in point: The Beatles.

For one, George Lucas' source material for the original trilogy was inspired, and he understood it well, between Samurai legends, Eastern philosophy, Greek storylines...he knew his voice. But now, Lucas is not interpreting classic story-arcs of legend, but rather interpreting his own "legendary" story-arc, which, of course, puts him FAR too close to his own subject. He has no sense of balance and perspective. He can't see the weaknesses in his own work, and his almost manical control over his work has not allowed anyone else inspired to help add to the mythos which is, honestly, far too big for him to handle.

George Lucas needs to take a page from Stan Lee's book. Let good people have a chance to develop your work to the next level. Stan knew when it was time to stop writing story-lines. He moved aside and let new writers develop the characters he created. (Example, The X-Men) He knew his limitations.

But Lee comes from another era. Lee is WWII, when self-centeredom was not "in vogue". When being a part of a communal effort, and even getting "credit" for your work was far less important (Stan always shared his creative credit with his first artists.) WWII generational folks understand the foundation community and working together, and have far less interest in glory. Lucas, however, comes from the Me generation, and it shows in all his work. He wants the credit, the glory, the accolades.

Humility would do him well. Lucas: Let Kevin Smith write your scripts for a while, or give your film (animated or otherwise) to a wise, indie director (worked out great for Batman). Let someone else fix what you have helped to destroy: your own damned legacy. Your last 3 films were awful, and I have a sneaking suspicion that you are aware of that fact.

Of course, that's just my opinion: I could be wrong.

I'll be there. Very excited, like the new animation look. The stories should be what fans wanted from Episode II.

I still think there is time to fix the pre-quels. Cut Episodes 1 and 2 down to one movie, call it Episode 1.5, see young Anakin and Qui-Gon in flashbacks, and tell the story of the lead up to war.

Then episode 2.5, as yet unfilmed, could do the Anakin-Padme love story justice, while giving fans the grit of a real war (and expanding the stories of the other jedi characters). I know Lucas won't do it, but maybe the success of this cartoon series, will cause him to see the light (if it is hailed as better than the first two prequels).

Oh, by the way, Episode III was great, I'd leave that alone.
