Meanwhile...RT Begins its Comic-Con Coverage!
We're heading down to San Diego for five relaxing, sparsely populated days.

Starting tomorrow, Rotten Tomatoes is saying goodbye to Bay Area overcast and hello to sunscreen and street vendor hot dogs. For five days, we'll be down in San Diego covering Comic-Con International, the mostly sold-out megashow that has Hollywood studios and comic books colliding in cosmic (and slightly odiferous) pop culture harmony.

While we're not looking forward to the crowds (maximum occupancy alert!), we are looking forward to attending panels where hopefully some bombs will be dropped about projects like Iron Man, Hulk, and 30 Days of Night.

And Comic-Con isn't just panels about comic panels. Flicks like Indiana Jones 4, the new Star Trek, 3:10 to Yuma, and Resident Evil: Extinction will be present and accounted for in various forms. We also have features and interviews lined up, like Clive Owen for Shoot 'Em Up, and Futurama supervising director Rich Moore, who'll discuss the Futurama revival and Matt Groening's upcoming original projects.

So stick around and stay tuned as we set up shop in Southern California. I hope the hot dog guys make 'em the same way as they do during E3.

The trailer will be shown with The Simpsons Movie. Which will be playing at the Pacific Gaslamp, which is in pretty close walking distance. You could easily take a break, and go see it. I'm gonna be standing in line for the Superbad screening between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM.

no offense Couchy...but i don't think anybody believes one iota of that. if you'd have said a porn convention...maybe. although with it being in Cali...and including some movies, who knows. maybe ol' boy lied and said he was a "producer"...

Futurama is one of the dumbest shows i've ever tried to watch. why in god's name are they bringing that pos back. why can't they bring back shows that are actually GOOD

They should change the name of this convention to Media Con instead. Someone should start up there own COMIC CON. Comics and only comics.

They're bringing Futurama back because it has exploded in popularity during its run on Adult Swim. The Cartoon Network runs that show for at least an hour every night. It's a pretty darn popular program. The only reason it failed on its initial run, IMO, was because it ran at 7:00pm, against 60minutes and Dateline. That could kill any show. Now, on Adult Swim, it is appealing to its ideal audience at better times, and is doing fantastic. I know that at 10:30 when I'm bored, I can turn on Futurama and catch a quick laugh.

I wish I was at Comic-Con.

Same opinion on all counts, mate.

My only fear with Futurama's return is that it'll travel down the same road as Family Guy - never to capture the original aura it once had.

I have a complaint. With the new comments system, you can't tell who is replying to what message.

thanks for the info on Futurama's return but...i still think it sucks. the episodes i've seen are very hack, and i can't get into shows/movies/comedians that do the same joke thats BEEN done before. to me...its no better than the recent episodes of the Simpsons

I know what you're saying about jokes, Gimy. As I get older, everything seems so old and overdone... I miss being young when everything was new and I hadn't heard or seen it all before. Sniff.

Imagine how good the Star Wars prequels could have been if I was 20 years younger!

Among other problems -- when you hit submit, the programmers should be able to instantly add your comment (i.e., so it pops up without having to manually refresh)... and they should take you to the page your comment is on...
