Consensus: Despite all the celebrities on hand, this spin-off from a theme park attraction still feels tired and hokey.

His sanctuary is in a disbanded musical act, the Country Bears, to whom he has a strong connection and is fanatical about. So it is no surprise when Beary runs away to find his real family that he winds up at Country Bear Hall, the landmark site of so many of those memorable Country Bear gigs, now little more than dust and kindling and just days from being demolished by greedy banker Reed Thimple (Christopher Walken). The few Bears who remain prepare to move away from their hall and their Kentucky bluegrass. That is, until Beary arrives, convincing them to hop in the old Hiber Nation tour bus and track down the other band members for a reunion concert in hopes of saving the historic venue. This search for the members of the influential group proves difficult with the Bears all in varying states of desperation and a pair of bumbling cops (Daryl Mitchell and Diedrich Bader) tracking them. Ultimately, the Country Bears and their biggest fan use this road trip to gain an understanding of the true meaning of family. [More]

Reviews for The Country Bears
'...both hokey and super-cool, and definitely not in a hurry, so sit back, relax and have a few laughs while the little ones get a fuzzy treat.'
Good music, creative twists and a moving performance by freaky Christopher Walken saved this potentially stinky kiddie film
While obviously aimed at kids, The Country Bears ... should keep parents amused with its low groan-to-guffaw ratio.
Lighten up everybody! The bears are cute, the music is good, and Christopher Walken is a gas!
Many went to see the attraction for the sole reason that it was hot outside and there was air conditioning inside, and I don’t think that A.C. will help this movie one bit.
...the movie just might be worth a rental if only for the sight of watching Christopher Walken belt out a musical number using only his hand and his armpit.
If you're looking to take your children to something harmless, that doesn't embarrass anyone, this light comedy ... is your next outing.
Stuart Little 2 and Lilo & Stitch were respectable...in their own right, but The Country Bears is the most satisfying family film of the summer.
The movie is not as terrible as the synergistic impulse that created it.
Pic as a whole is a gently and genuinely amusing treat that should bring smiles to target auds.
The message becomes the savior for "The Country Bears," an equal parts silly and sweet tale that wears its great big ol' heart on its grizzly-sized sleeve.
Although I didn't hate this one, it's not very good either. It can be safely recommended as a video/DVD babysitter.
Too damn weird to pass up, and for the blacklight crowd, way cheaper (and better) than Pink Floyd tickets.
It's an OK family diversion, but afterwards you'd be forgiven for wondering what's next from Disney: Pirates of the Caribbean?
The disarming cornball atmosphere has a way of infecting the entire crowd as the film rolls on.
