Rob Corddry Chases "Harold and Kumar" to Amsterdam
by Fred Topel | January 29, 2007

The Daily Show's Rob Corddry takes a villainous turn in the "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" sequel, the long awaited sequel to the stoner comedy. Despite the working title, "Harold and Kumar Go to Amsterdam," Corddry won't be doing any European accents.

"I don't get to go to Amsterdam," said Corddry. "They barely even make it to tell you the truth. It's mostly a romp through the south, escape running from Homeland Security which is me."

Sounds like another hilarious adventure, but the dramatically trained Corddry brushed up on his old Shakespearean chops for this one. "I'm playing the villain in "Harold and Kumar 2" and you've got to play it straight. You don’t play it like it's a comedy. When you're in a comedy, your character doesn't know he's in a comedy so it's kind of like a dramatic role in a sense."

The sequel just began shooting in Louisiana.

yah! the first was a blast.
undeniable junk food for the brain, but ultimately satisfying.

"did she touch your penis?"

"well since we're all here…let's make it a foursome"

"c'mon pookie let's burn this muthafukka down!"

classic.

I'm sure it will work just like the first one. They don't get to White Castle until the end, the film is about the journey to get there. So the difficult part is getting to Amsterdam, not being in Amsterdam

great
The first one was much better than I thought it would be, and I love the fact that they are filming in my hometown, mainly because it is nice to recognize places they are using for the film.

filming in your hometown? Which city in Louisiana are they filming in? Have they been asking for extras?

I hope after this Kal Penn will remember what its like to be in a good movie again after Van Wilder 2 and Epic Movie, not to mention his completely pointless role in Superman Returns.

I think H&K2 has a much better chance at being a better movie than Van Wilder 2 and Epic Movie. Van Wilder and Epic Movie have absolutely zero purpose behind the movie. You can tell by the trailers that the movie is just there to string a couple jokes along.

The original H&K featured the "journey" as its main purpose and achieving a goal. The movie also threw in some social commentary and interpersonal and personal issues. In short, there was actually character and plot development in that movie. Epic Movie/Van Wilder are much more simplistic than that to the point where a plot and character development is almost void.

I think H&K2 has a good chance at being a good movie but I seriously doubt it could top the original. The original caught so many people by surprise, especially the critics. Now that the critics have expectations for this movie, it may be a different story.

I want to see them get lost then get picked up by.... Cheech and Chong! That would be the best!
