Serena (Eva LaRue Callahan) is an Italian noblewoman dispossessed of her title and wealth by the chaos of World War II. Soon after the war, however, she meets an American serviceman, Brad Fullerton. They marry and return to the United States together, and Serena's life seems perfect with her new husband and family, until the military calls Brad again, and he is killed in action during the Korean War.
