New Director Lined Up for "Shrek 4"
by Scott Weinberg | May 08, 2007
Discuss Article
It's not all that uncommon for new directors to step in on well-established series, but the "new guy" isn't usually someone known for live-action features...

Seems that Mike Mitchell, who directed the not-so-good "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" and the surprisingly quite good "Sky High," has been tapped by DreamWorks to helm the fourth flick in the "Shrek" series. (You didn't really think they were going to stop at three, did you?)

Mr. Mitchell has directed some animated shorts and some "SpongeBob" episodes, so he does have experience in the realm of animation. Former Farrelly Brothers collaborator Josh Klausner is working on the "Shrek 4" script.

Meanwhile "Shrek the Third" opens next week.

I really liked Sky High...and really by the 4th installment their just going to be churning this stuff out anyway so who really cares if their dropping a director. The series will probably need some new blood by then.

SHREK Peaked at 2 sorry. I wasn't hyped for three. And when Donkey announced on Father of the Pride about three I wasn't that enthused. I like Shrek but two just tried waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too hard. So I dunno about three. Or Four, I'm sure it'll make a lot of money but be careful what you wish for or you might kill the golden goose.

I actually liked the first Bigalow movie and Sky High was better than I thought it would be, so I'm down with this.

The first two Shreks were amazing, can't wait for this third, I would LOVE a fourth!

so the dip in quality from Shrek the Third to Shrek 4 will be almost impossible for anyone to miss. Maybe this means that Shrek will end with 4.

Why should they wait to see how Shrek 3 does? It's money in the bank!

peaked at 2??????
do you understand what the term "Peaked" means? it means you actually have to see the 3rd movies before you can sy nything. I'm so sick of people critisizing movies before they're even made. (sorry about spelling for some reason some of the keys on my keyboard don't work, consequently this will be my only post for a while)

the guy who did some spongebob episodes, sky high (supsrsingly good my ass!) and duece bigalow to do this....... so basicly we have a guy with nickolodeon expreince ( who is probably on crack like the rest of the people on the nickolodeon team) to do a shrek movie.......... whatever shrek sucks now anyway so why should i care i really don't so i don't even know why i'm venting over here but whatever......... i wonder if mike meyers is gonna quit by then and star in those highly enjoyable PG-13 comedys that he used to make.
