But hold on--the mission is not quite so simple as it seems; his chase of the jewel thieves leads him to conspirators with plans for unleashing a nuclear armageddon on an unsuspecting planet. The majority of the action takes place on the gaudy, glittering streets of Las Vegas, as Bond negotiates the grotesque terrain with his customary aplomb and fancy mechanical gadgets. As always, he manages to dally with several sexy bombshells along the way, including the wonderful Lana Wood as Plenty O'Toole. Connery is as suave and entertaining as ever, taking on the menacing Charles Gray, who is trying his hand at playing Bond's archenemy, Blofeld. Look for the car chase down a narrow alley. [More]

Arguably the least memorable Bond film, it's still exhilarating fare and good to see Connery in the role one more time.

Connery has a ball with great stunts, snappy dialogue and a bevy of typically Bondish beauties.

Fairly forgetable addition to the 007 series, bringing Connery's tenure to a unsatisfying close.

The ending, while high on pyrotechnics, is low on tension, bringing Connery's era to a rather dissatisfying conclusion.

The movie's momentum is such that one never has much time to react to its lack of reason, only to its sensations of speed and narrow escape, and to the splendor of its crazy gadgets and décor.

Bond looks better than ever, partly because Sean Connery has returned to play him.

We see different movies for different reasons, and Diamonds Are Forever is great at doing the things we see a James Bond movie for.

It seems that the only legitimate attack that is made on Bond’s character comes from his male enemies.

Assorted ladies, a few quick lines, and one good chase, making for a mediocre entry in the series.

...a bit sillier than most Bond adventures but probably not as bad as it could have been.

After the disastrous George Lazenby, Sean Connery, definitely the best Bond ever, comes back again to act his signature role of James Bond.
