It's not high art, but it's a heckuva lot better than what generally passes for your average weeknight sitcom.

Kelley (PICKET FENCES) were able to make DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D. work by creating an interesting and wholesome series about growing up in a situation both familiar and unique. Doogie Howser (Neil Patrick Harris) is a teenage genius who sped through his education to become a practicing doctor at an improbably young age. While he learns how to be an effective doctor, Doogie still has a lot of growing up to do, which sometimes causes conflicts in his duties. With the assistance of the other sympathetic doctors, and Doogie's pals Vinnie and Wanda, he manages to overcome his difficulties. The image of Doogie typing in his computer journal at the conclusion of each episode has become an iconic television image. SEASON TWO contains 25 episodes of the coming-of-age drama. [More]
