on Aug 10 2007 07:02 AM In reply to this comment (#1026369) This just goes to show how ignorant some people are. Don't pirate films. It effects more people than you'd like to think. You seem to believe that everybody working in the film industry is rich and can do without the constant stream of revenue that DVD sales brings in. My good friend is an electrician in Hollywood and this effects him just as much - if not more so - than it effects studio execs. Another friend of mine is trying to make a living in the DVD authoring business, and what do you think happens to him when people don't buy DVD's? That's right - he loses his job. Stop being selfish. on Aug 10 2007 07:14 AM And don't complain about how "inflated" DVD prices are. Yeah, MSRP is high, I agree. But not all outlets sell at that point. Come on! You can get DVD's for 15 to 20 bucks! Is that too much? Look, just because something might be expensive doesn't mean that you're justified in stealing it. Go to Blockbuster and buy it used, for heaven's sake! (Reply to this) |

on Aug 10 2007 08:06 AM If u are going to remake a martial movie, the most basic thing u should do is hire people who know martial art movies. The first ones I would definitely hire are yuen woo ping, sammo hung or any one from the jackie chan stunt team. Jet Li's fist of legend is a direct remake of bruce lee's fist of fury. In this special case, the remake is much better than the original in areas such as story developments, production values and fight choragraphy. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 10 2007 08:09 AM I cant believe nobody's mentioned it, but this doesnt sound like a remake to Enter the Dragon. It sounds like freaking Van Damme's Blood Sport. Down to the "law eforcement types" chasing a rogue martial artist through the underworld to a Brutal fighting competition. All we need is Bolo Yeung cameo (since he was in both films.) on Aug 10 2007 09:23 AM Why do filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, etc. even bother talking about projects like this before they are at least in development? There's no way they can make this sound good - they always sounds like bad ideas. Unless they have a cast in place that we can go "ooooo ahhhhhh" then there is not point. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 10 2007 09:36 AM Y'Know, I have this theory that the human race is capable of only a finite amount of artistic creativity and inspiration before it starts to feed on itself. Nowhere is there more eveidence of this than in the film industry. True, I am motivated to post this because I am an enormous fan of "Enter the Dragon", but with the amount of unbelievably horrible remakes that have been ground out in the past decade, it just seems that there is no more original thinking in Hollywood anymore. Past work is now just being mined for dollars. Ach. And on a fanboy note: There is absolutely no one on this earth that can possibly approach Bruce Lee in "Enter the Dragon". Any attempt to remake or "reimagine" this film will and should be met with contempt and derision by fans. Hollywood, please stop desecrating sacred ground for the sake of money. If you want to see a great -parody- of "Enter the Dragon", watch the "Fistful of Yen" segment in "The Kentucky Fried Movie". Now that is pure gold. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 10 2007 10:02 AM Don't even know why they are referring to this as a remake. If they didn't say anything it would just seem like any other crime flick but with martial arts. I hope they use Tony Jaa for this. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 10 2007 10:15 AM I have no idea if the film will be any good, but with the right trailer it won't matter: millions of people will go and see it, especially if they grab a popular American actor to play the FBI agent, like, say Matt Damon who seems to enjoy playing the FBI/ CIA type. on Aug 10 2007 11:10 AM That is the biggest load of bull**** I have ever heard. When are studios going to wise up and learn that people don't want classic movies re-hashed! (Reply to this) |

on Aug 10 2007 11:15 AM Word : stupid marketers and publicists. Why link this film to the Bruce Lee cult classic when it could turn out to be indistinguishable from the original and yet is still a marvelous film on its own....Its merit would only to be tarnished by reference to Bruce Lee.
