In the first episode, Phil Joanou brings William Campbell Gault's DEAD-END FOR DELIA to life in telling the tragic tale of Pat Kelley (Gary Oldman), an edgy cop who takes matters into his own hands when his estranged wife, Delia (Gabrielle Anwar), is murdered. Pursuing leads in the form of her sultry friend Lois (Meg Tilly) and dance club proprietor David O'Connor (Vondie Curtis Hall), the truth behind Pat's disintegrating stability eventually becomes known, to the dismay of everyone around him. In Tom Hanks's I'LL BE WAITING, based on a Raymond Chandler story, hotel detective Tony Reseck (Bruno Kirby) finds himself protecting a beautiful new resident (Marg Helgenberger). What he doesn't realize is that his attempts to protect her trigger more murders than he ever could have expected. Finally, Steven Soderbergh adapts Jonathan Craig's THE QUIET ROOM to tell the story of Carl Streeter (Joe Mantegna), a crooked cop and single father who has concocted a seemingly untouchable shakedown scam with fellow officer Sally Creighton (Bonnie Bedelia). But when Sally's latest target for information ends up dead, Carl learns the meaning of karma in a turn of events no one could have predicted. Clever, exciting, and fresh, these three films prove worthy additions to the FALLEN ANGELS catalogue. [More]
