Green just comes off as one of those weird, fey guys who's a lot less interesting than he thinks he is.

Consensus: Unfavorably comparing it with such infamously bad titles as Battlefield Earth, a significant number of critics are calling Tom Green's extreme gross-out comedy the worst movie they have ever seen.

Starring as... Self-made celebrity and outlaw of gross-out comedy, Tom Green (of MTV's TOM GREEN SHOW) makes the leap to the big screen with the outrageous semi-autobiographical FREDDY GOT FINGERED. Starring as Gord Brody, a slacker fast-approaching 30, yet still living in his father's basement, Green is his usual obtusely hilarious, polymorphously perverse self. Physical comedy ascends to the realm of extreme performance art as Brody's unachievable lifelong dream to become an animator causes him to clash with his hardened father (played by the steely and equally funny Rip Torn.) A furtive love affair with a wheelchair-bound rocket scientist and the disturbing hijinks of a troublesome younger brother named Freddy form the core of the sublimely stupid plot that serves mainly as a platform from which Green launches his incredible and often irrational comedic fare. Testing the limits of comedy, Green's deceptively moronic film does, at times, achieve a level of visual and conceptual cleverness, crafting ironic and primordial images from jokes on human folly. Reviews for Freddy Got Fingered
This genre ceased to have boundaries about a year ago, as well as any sense of anarchy and subversiveness.
It's the ego trip of a talentless showoff with nothing to say, and worse, Green knows it.
It's hard to ignore the strain of gratuitous cruelty that runs through it.
[Green is] like that irritating kid in every junior high school who wants desperately to be the class clown.
An insult and embarrassment to filmmaking, comedies and even gross-out pictures.
The result is complete chaos, a deafening free-for-all of screaming, hollering, and fluid-spraying.
Most of it is pure tedium, interrupted by jaw-dropping immaturity and inept jokes.
I'm not easily offended, but its nonstop assault of crude and sub-cretinous humor moved me to annoyance, then profound boredom.
If you go to see this movie, Green will earn the money to make another one. That's between you and your conscience.
A movie so unrelentingly gross, disgusting and imbecilic that one mourns for the state of humanity while watching it.
