Ray Park Is Snake Eyes!
Darth Maul is a ninja.
Meet your new Snake Eyes, G.I. Joe fans!

Yes, that's right -- Ray Park, also known as Darth Maul from Star Wars Episode I, has been cast as the live-action version of the coolest plastic ninja of the '80s.
Slashfilm's Peter Sciretta broke the story, giving Park only the first of what will surely be many thumbs up. He's certainly got the physical tools for the role, as demonstrated by his appearances in Star Wars and X-Men, and more than a few fans have openly hoped he'd get the gig in Stephen Sommers' hotly debated adaptation of the popular cartoons and comics.
Park becomes the second member of the G.I. Joe cast, following Sienna Miller.

on Dec 05 2007 06:10 AM Hopefully this won't be another Transformers: great action scenes and special effects combined with a lame love story and retarded dialogue. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 08:23 AM Did anyone ever see BALLISTIC: ECKS VS. SEVER? Not only was that one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but Ray Parks was TERRIBLE! Whatever...he's physically very capable, I know. G.I. Joe is still gonna suck, though....come on! How could it possibly be any good? (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 08:27 AM I am officially excited for this movie now - Ray Park was great in everything I have seen him in thus far - I have to agree was a little bit of a waste of his talent in X-men - Great casting job! Can't wait to see more as they fill the other major players (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 08:39 AM In reply to this comment (#1329535) I agree! Frank Welker is as important to this as Peter Cullen was to Prime! I don't think they're going to be able to have the no-speaking part, though. I'll settle if they just have him wearing the mask the whole time. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 09:27 AM By the way, Ray Park's voice was dubbed by a voice actor for Phantom Menace. At least that is what Liam Neeson said on the DVD. Oh and Frank Welker didn't do Cobra Commander's voice. That honor belonged to Chris Latta, who also did the original Starscream but he is dead. But since Welker was pushed aside for star power on Transformers, it's only fair for him to take on Cobra Commander. No? (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 09:35 AM Among others on the show, Frank Welker did the voice of Wild Bill among others for GIJoe (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 10:44 AM this character doesn't speak?! are ya serious?? i don't know much GI Joe(never liked it as a kid) but i feel sorry for this guy. he actually wasn't even supposed to be in the phantom, but got written in because lucas loved how well he did the stunts training the guys. sleepy hollow, GREAT in that...never says a word. Menace...GREAT in that, dubbed over because he had too thick of a scottish accent(said it in an interview), Xmen...i think he blurbs 2 lines IF that. was also in mortal kombat, and didn't speak. i'm sorry but, i'd go see Park in an action movie in a heartbeat rather than a 90 year old stallon, an aging Jackie Chan...or a vin diesel any day. somebody PLEASE give this cat a starring role in a decent budget action film...d3mn, if Seagel and Van Damme can STILL put out movies...why can nobody fund this guy? (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 05 2007 10:57 AM Yea, Maul was dubbed by the uptight roomate in Shaun of the Dead...Peter Serafinowicz. and in Ecks vs Sver, hey, he could only do so much with that script. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 05 2007 01:10 PM I wasn't keen on the way this movie would turn out, but now that Ray Park's in it, I'm sold. (Reply to this) |
