Breaking news today is that Stephen Sommers is actually at least ten times cooler than you actually thought he was. Apparently, on the set of GI JOE, he instructed Sienna Miller to wear fake breasts as her own cleavage was not big enough for him. In other news, I'll probably check this movie out now.
"(I wear a) tight black leather outfit. And much bigger boobs... They gave me these things that looked like chicken fillets. The director said, 'I'm gonna be honest, I like girls with big boobs,' and I don't have them so we made them bigger... At least he's honest. But I was mildly offended."
You know what, now that I think about it, you can say what you like about Stephen Sommers but homeboy can make a girl look good, no? Kate Beckinsale in VEN HELSING, Rachel Weisz in THE MUMMY RETURNS and now he's putting Sienna Miller in skin-tight leather with an enhanced chest. His films might be horrible [ edit: actually, I did enjoy THE MUMMY], but I think we can all agree this guy is a freaking hero to the working class of this planet.

What do you mean, "enjoy Mummy"? That movie was fucking awesome. It is still the BEST adventure movie since the Indiana Jones trilogy (and continues to be the best one sinc then, since Indy 4 wasn't as good). Anyway, ya, Helsing sucked, so we'll see. |

Dude seriously you weren't paying attention to the size of the boobs during the cartoons?! Me and my friends had deep discussions over who was the hottest: Lady Jay, Scarlett or the Baroness. I always chose the Baroness because I like the dirty ones and glasses always tickles that funny bone. Explains me nearly stalking Tina Fey.

I don't think people hated Sommers for making bad movies, but for getting the chance to revamp the old horror franchises and turning out shallow action extravaganzas that didn't live up to their hype.
But I too enjoyed "The Mummy." |

Cut Stephen Sommers some slack. I think he is a great modern day B-Movie director. Deep Rising, The Mummy 1+2 and Van Helsing, while all were a bit heavy on the CG, I found them to be incredibly entertaining big budget B-Movies. The Sci-Fi channel wishes they could get the budgets Sommers gets to play with. I actually watched Deep Rising not that long ago and was surprised by how well some of the VFX held up. As for GI-Joe, I'm a bit neutral on it for now, but it def has some potential. |
