Jolie Exits "Sin City 2"?
IGN Movies reports that director Robert Rodriguez, rumored to be tired of waiting for Angelina Jolie's schedule to open up a "Sin City 2"-sized hole, may have begun efforts to secure the services of another actress for Jolie's role.
Which actress? Well, these are rumors, so the speculation is still suitably wild -- names being floated at the moment include Rachel Weisz, recently seen in "The Fountain," and Rodriguez' "Grindhouse" gun moll Rose McGowan. Seeing as how the sequel doesn't look to be starting production until next year at the earliest, we may be hearing variations on this one for awhile.

on Jan 18 2007 02:42 PM I think if you are going to do a Sin City flick, you should really want it, I mean Jonesing to be a part of it. If Jolie isn't all about it, then eff her. Besides, how many more parts can she play where her lips are pouting and her eyes are narrowed, like she doesn't know how she comes off on camera. Ugh NEXT! (Reply to this) |

on Jan 18 2007 11:31 PM Annoying when big stars take their sweet time to give an answer huh. Loved the cast of Sin City because none of em were big-named stars, except for Bruce Willis..maybe...Compare that to Ocean's Twelve where u had all the big names. Find someone who can do a good job with whatever role u have in mind, Robert. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 19 2007 02:40 AM As much as I want this movie to be made already, I would be willing to wait for jolie, if anyone has read a dame to kill for they would know she is made for this role and if i didn't know better (which i don't) i would of said miller based ava on angelia. Frankly I just can't see rachel weisz up to the role, shes hot theres no question in that, but she doesn't have that raw sex appeal that could make any man perform sinful deeds, jolie on the other hand I can see. ![]() on Jan 19 2007 07:23 AM Weisz is pretty in her own way...but she doesn't have the comic 'almost pornstar' look that Sin City works with. Acting aside, Jolie's defined look would work better. If Jolie doesn't do it I hope they find someone besides Weisz. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 19 2007 08:17 AM Weisz can pull off the classic Film Noir Femme Fatale. Hell, they should reunite Rodriguez with his old muse Salma Hayek. THAT is a Dame To Kill For. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 19 2007 10:31 AM Just as long as this gets the ball rolling on production again. It's taken them FAR too long to start. Frankly, I'm ashamed with Rodriguez. He was able to put out 3 craptastic Spy Kids movies in 3 years, and it takes two years to start a 2nd Sin City. Besides, I would rather see Rachel Weisz or Salma Hayek in this role much more than Jolie, but for this role to work it has to have a certain degree of nudity to the role. Ava Lord uses sex as a weapon, and the nudity is how she does it. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 19 2007 12:57 PM How stupid Jolie should have jumped at the chance. I like Weisz, Hayek, and McGowan so I don't care that much about who gets it, but like other people have said I don't know if Weisz can pull it off. Whatever just start making it allready and I'll be happy. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 19 2007 02:39 PM In reply to this comment (#853347) Rachel Weisz can pull it off. See The movies called "I want you" and The Shape Of Things". Weisz proves in those films how great she would be in Sin City. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 23 2007 10:13 AM by big stars, I mean they all dont take 20mil for a movie as a paycheck. Nevermind, I shouldn't explain myself to a 11 yr old anyways. (Reply to this) |
