Daniel Radcliffe Will Finish Out the "Harry Potter" Series
How annoying would it have been to get a brand-new Harry Potter with only one or two movies left in the series? Well, it was pretty unlikely that that was going to happen. And now it definitely won't: The young Mr. Radcliffe just inked the deal for the remainder of the movie series.
From the actor's very own fansite: "I am pleased to inform you that it has been confirmed for us by Dan's Publicist that Dan has, in fact, signed on for the last two Harry Potter films. Dan will begin filming in September on "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince." He has also signed on to return and reprise his role as Harry in the very last film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." This will "mark a place" in history for Dan and fulfill his wishes as he stated more than three years ago that he would like to portray "Harry" in all of the films."
Cool. And then after that he can spend 40 years trying to make people forget he was Harry Potter so he can play a romantic lead or a psycho killer. Then again, I can't even guess how much cash the kid made for this series, so maybe he'll just go buy a small country.

on Mar 06 2007 07:54 AM Good to know. It would be strange if we had a new Harry for the last two movies. Hope the rest of the cast follows his examples. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 06 2007 07:56 AM Well he is doing theater and if that is what he wants to do he might make it there. I think his film prospects after this series are small (he'd have to stick with independents). But it isn't entirely out of the realm of......Harry Potter....oh damn... (Reply to this) |

on Mar 06 2007 08:43 AM you never know, his reviews from Equus have all been really good, so he could have a career in the theatre after all of this. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 06 2007 11:19 AM or he could be like the hundreds of other actors who've done iconic roles and went on to do other things. Harrison Ford, Ahnold, Stallone, DeNiro. If you actually look at it there are a lot more people who've gone on to success than have gotten pidgeon holed. Maybe Mark Hamill wasn't that good an actor in the first place and was pre-destined to do awesome voiceover work on animated superhero series. Seriously I think a lot of actors use the pidgeon holed excuse to cover for a lack of talent. Does anyone seriously think even if Christian Bale had started life as Batman he couldn't have went on to do other things? (Reply to this) |
