Ari comes off as little more than a self-centered, bigoted layabout, contemptuous of anyone who works for a living and a trial to his family.

Reviews for Head On
Head On crashes rights into your gay expectations and drags them down into the gutter. Powerful forces are at work here. You won’t go home laughing. No way.
One of this year's most sensual tragic spectacles -- a tour-de-force on a thousand different levels, with no easy happy endings in sight.
The film's close is grim and ambivalent, a choice that would be commendable if the movie had not so stubbornly held the same dour tone for two hours already, and if Ari weren't as boring as he is bored.
Kokkinos ... goes at it all with a relentless, take-no-prisoners panache and pace; this film moves.
A film more easily admired than enjoyed, but there is much to admire in this bold, unsettling film.
Its frank portrayal of gay life is a refreshing foil to the watered-down examples of queer cinema we've seen of late.
Strains so desperately for a tragic kitchen-sink realism that in several crucial scenes the movie loses its grip and escalates into strident melodrama.
There are some powerful moments in this rambling day-in-the-life odyssey.
