More "Hellboy 2" Tidbits to Whet Your Whistle
Another smattering of whimsical "Hellboy 2" set reports from Budapest, plus a handful of potential script review spoilers spell a happy day for eager Guillermo del Toro fans!
Let's start with the (maybe) spoilers. The resourceful Brendan over at Film Ick has got his hands on a script for "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army," and he's putting together the pieces for you to get a sense of what the sequel's story might be like.
What sort of villains will there be? Expect figures from old-world mythology including elves, trolls, and dragons. Click here to read the full spoilerific post.
Meanwhile, 12-year-old Maddy Gaiman (daughter of Neil) wrapped up her two-week guest-blogging stint while visiting the "Hellboy 2" set with her dad. (If you've read it, then you know how fun it was to follow!)
While Maddy's nose wasn't in a book on the set (guess what she's reading? Stardust, by...Neil Gaiman), she was making fanboys everywhere jealous by hobnobbing with the likes of Doug Jones, Selma Blair, Viggo Mortenson, and of course, GDT.
Some highlights:
Maddy also promises that she and her dad will be on hand (and blogging) at this month's Comic-Con in San Diego, where he'll be promoting the August release of "Stardust."
As for "Hellboy 2," you'll have to wait a whole year for its release on August 1, 2008.

Some highlights:
- Guillermo del Toro takes Maddy out to ice cream, and she meets Doug Jones: "He is very nice but his costume is kind of smelly. I think it's the leather."
- Maddy visits the set in 100 degree heat: "They are building a whole troll town in a quarry for the movie, and we got to go visit it today."
- Maddy posts pics from the set.
- Maddy, Doug Jones, and Neil stumble onto the set of a Viggo Mortensen movie.
- Maddy watches an "unusual" 2 minute sequence get filmed, is interviewed for the "Hellboy 2" DVD: "I think it comes out in like December 2008 or something."

on Jul 06 2007 03:14 PM In reply to this comment (#910334) I think it may have just been you :) Seriously, I think Hellboy more than say Spiderman, Superman or even Batman is more for people who are already fans or at least fans of comics and slightly off kilter fare. If you're one of the people who watched Transformers and just saw a movie about giant robots this probably just wasn't a movie for you. (Reply to this) |
