Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga Adopt a Scary Orphan
Duo to star in House of Wax director's latest.

Horror trends come and go, but through 'em all, one thing remains the same: Kids are creepy.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra understands this, which is why, as Variety reports, he's chosen Orphan for his Stateside follow-up to House of Wax. The horror film, which is being produced by Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment, will star Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga. From the article:

Story revolves around a husband and wife (Sarsgaard and Farmiga) who lose a baby and then adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be. David Leslie Johnson penned the screenplay, which is based on a story by Alex Mace.

Anybody want to lay odds that Elle Fanning gets this part?

Actually, no, it wasn't good, and this one probably won't be much better, but I like Peter Sarsgaard, so that will help.

Vera Farmiga was just in another movie about parents trying to deal with creepy children, "Joshua."

This is a rip-off of the French film "Dans Paris"

Actually, "The Omen" did this long before "The Good Son". It's a nice retread of a retread, so of course it's getting greenlighted. Reminds me of that line from the MC Chris skit...

"When you hear something that you've heard before... that's COMEDY!"

"When you see something that you've seen before... that's HOLLYWOOD!"

I think everyone can agree that this was done best in a couple little gems I like to call Problem Child 1 & 2
