Indiana Jones and the Locked-In Release Date
by Scott Weinberg | February 07, 2007

OK, we seem to have some concrete and definite news about "Indiana Jones 4" from Paramount. But don't get too excited. All we have for sure is a release date. Nope, not even a title yet, sorry.

According to ComingSoon.net, Box Office Mojo broke this news: Thursday May 22nd is when "Fourth Installment of the Indiana Jones Adventures" will hit your local multiplex. (Yes, that's what the studio is calling the project right now. I'm betting they'll change it.) Plus, why would it only be the fourth installment? Didn't Steven Spielberg tell us that "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" were officially part of the series? Eh, I'm just kiddin'.

So as of this moment, May of 2008 looks like this:

  • May 2nd -- "Iron Man"
  • May 16th -- "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"
  • May 22nd -- "Indy 4"
  • May 23rd -- "Speed Racer"
And it's a good thing "Speed Racer" has a fast car; he's gonna wanna vacate that release date as soon as automotively possible.

Not sure how recent this info is, but web speculation has offered up the following tidbits:
  • Three of the leading ladies from the series (Karen Allen, Kate Capshaw, perhaps even Alison Doody) will be returning for cameo roles.
  • John Rhys-Davies is likely to be back in the sidekick role
  • Sean Connery seems to be returning to play Indy's dad.
  • The flick will take place in the 1950s.
  • The movie will make a huge truckload of money.
(OK, I threw that last one in myself.)

Indy and Mr Wayne poised to out-hero each other at the summer box office all over again. Loving that cyclical vibe!

Doody is a woman, and her character fell through the crack in the earth trying to save the Holy Grail, she's dead so it will be interesting to see them try and pull that off. They'll probably just claim its her sister.

She fell into the earth, and right back out on the other end. That would place her somewhere around Montana. ;)

Hey I'm from Montana, so I guess I'm going to have to try to find her.
