Karen Allen WILL Appear in "Indy 4" ... We Think
by Scott Weinberg | May 24, 2007
Discuss Article
According to one source, Karen Allen's appearance in "Indiana Jones 4" is pretty much a done deal, although Paramount won't comment one way or the other.

I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little tired of all the silly secrecy. Hell, they won't even give us the title. But CHUD.com seems to be pretty damn sure that "Raiders of the Lost Ark" heroine Karen Allen will be involved in the fourth adventure of Indiana Jones ... and she'll be playing the mommy to Shia LaBeouf's character.

"Karen Allen will be reprising the role of Marion Ravenwood in Indiana Jones IV, and she’s going to be Shia LaBeouf’s mom. And you’ll recall that Shia is Indy’s son. You do the math," is what CHUD's Deven Faraci had to say, and he certainly seems to be a confident source of "Indy" news these days.

I'm guessing they got it on when they went out to get a drink. You know, a drink?

Karen Allen + Harrison Ford = ... Shia LaBeouf (?) How'd they manage that?

I want action and mystery from Indiana Jones, not family drama

Oh come on, Xhrix. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade had plenty of family drama and that didn't stop the film from having plenty of action or mystery. I say just calm down and wait until the damn movie comes out before you judge the thing.

Don't worry, I haven't written this movie off yet. I just hope that they are putting great focus onto the adventure part, and not wasting time with this silly child aspect.

And of course I'm going to judge it before it comes out.... I'm on RT aren't I? Isn't that the whole point of the site?

Please let it be true. She'll bring class, beauty, and finality to the story. Love it!

Yes! I agree!

And the logic of Karen Allen + Harrison Ford = Shia LeB is brought to you by the same source of logic that says Indy can stay clinging to a U-Boat as it makes a long trip across the Mediterranean. ;-)

Shia LaBeouf looks a lot like a young Harrison Ford. I think its good casting. As to how they "managed" that, you'd better ask your mommy.

emmmmm, he wasn't clinging to the side was he? As I remember it he opens the hatch and climbs in then exits and knocks out the German guard when they arrrive in port and much mayhem ensues. but I also believe there's way too much believability in movies now adays I miss the days when a man would swing out from a building on a firehose from a burning building and machine guns never had to be reloaded. What does reloading really do to progress the story honestly?

Story progression???? I thought that was an argument between you and I! :)

Nah, you're right though. You don't really have to suspend your disbelief in movies anymore.

yes i have, i've seen it a bunch of times. but why the hell would i want to see a 60 year old chic partnered with a 60 year old man fathered by an 80 year old...sounds like a great movie! do they hand out metamucil instead of popcorn?? who's next to be cast...a sexy...betty white? i'd rather see some hot chic than karen allen, sorry i have a libido. she coulda played the son's girlfriend or something. this series has already been played and when you bring back OLD ACTORS its a desperate cry for work. take a chill pill...loser

Hmmm. Now that you mention it, you may be right!!! Good point!

I may have blinked at that moment (every single time I saw the movie? Uh yeah...let's run with that).

OK, so my point's shot to Hades. But still, I can see Shia being their son. Why not.

I guess Gimy would be more satisfied with Krista Allen, someone who can't act worth a fuck. Seriously, if you're just concerned with looks, why not get porno star Kira Kener to star in Indiana Jones 4? That would make a lot of fucking sense, wouldn't it, you irredeemable cocksmoker.

moron, sex sells. thats why jessica alba has a career. take some viagra and you'd know what i mean. and if you keep casting OLD ACTRESSES AND ACTORS...you BEST be making another Cocoon movie. i forgot though...the Indy movies are made to be oscar winning masterpieces.

this series was great, one of my favs...but EVERYTHING they're doing spells doom. EVERYBODY involved cept for spielberg is clinging to a last hurrah. this chic hasn't done SQUAT in a loooong time, ford hasn't done anything GOOD in a loooong time( that submarine movie was great wasn't it??? GREEEAT accent!), CONNERY hasn't done squat in a loong time(League of Gentleman...wow, MARVELOUS, a masterpiece wasn't it?), and lucas...well, need i remind you of the LAST trilogy, especially Sith? c'mon. add to that the fact that this movie took YEARS to get off the ground...and it spells crapfest.

First of all, I didn't say anything about sex not selling. We're talking about movies here, not the fucking mass media.

Second, I'm not arguing about the quality of the film.

Finally, it makes more sense to have Karen Allen than Krista Allen. If you had actually watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, then you would know that. Stop being a moron.

Don't worry. I'm sure they'll cast some hottie to match up with Shia.

It's not a hottie issue. I'm a loyal fan of the trilogy and cannot see Shia's high pitched voice and short physical presence matching Ford's qualities as his son. Ford has a much deeper voice and commanding presence. Shia would make a much better relative to Belloq from "Raiders" than Indiana Jones. Good to see that Karen is along for the ride, again, though. I just hope that Shia is another character all together or a younger brother of another junior. That's my opinion.
