First Video from the "Indy 4" Shoot!
Who wants to see some video footage from the set of "Indiana Jones 4"? Yeah, I knew I wasn't the only one.
There's not really to much there, but it's still about 29 seconds of fun, anyway. Basically we see Steven Spielberg toasting his crew, preparing for a chase sequence, and driving away with George Lucas.
But still ... it's kinda cool to know there's a new "Indiana Jones" movie in production right now. Check out the video clip right here at IndianaJones.com.
Pop quiz (essay form) for the RT readers: Which is your favorite flick of the trilogy, and WHY? Mine's easy and obvious: The original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is (far and away) the best of the series because ... it's got the best action scenes, the best story, and the best female sidekick. Plus I love that rotten little monkey.

I used to watch "The Last Crusade" whenever I stayed home sick as a kid, so that's my favorite too. Special place for Indy and his dad. "Son, I've got to tell you something. The floor's on fire. And the chair!" (Reply to this) |

JUDGE DREDD writes: on Jun 27 2007 09:25 AM RAIDERS of the LOST ARK for me!!! The awsome opening scene with the Poison darts, the temple and the giant Ball. The first time we see the whip! Snake pit, Nazi whooping and the End finalli with the power of God flying out of the ark, melting heads! WOW!!! Temple of doom second favourite, let down slightly by willys consctant screaming! Last crusade in third place, let down slightly by the old knight at the end, and Denholm elliots over the top senile jibberings. All fantastic movies though and all 3 are in my top 10 films of all time. But Raiders is pure Indy, and is the most sensible and adult. Lets hope the slight annoyances in the sequels are realised by Spielberg and Eliminated from Indy 4. Lets not lose the sense of fun though. (Reply to this) |

puablo writes: on Jun 27 2007 11:17 AM I have never, ever been able to definitively decide on Raiders or Last Crusade. Both are amazing in their own right. Usually I end up leaning towards Crusade though only because it felt even more epic. But then again, I can't watch one of these movies without watching the other two soon after. I just can't do it! BReeG writes: on Jun 27 2007 11:47 AM Raiders definately: the rolling rock, Indy shoots the swordman, the pit of asps, "It's Beautiful!!"... too many great moments. Nice to see that glimpse of Steven & co on set, you really get the feeling that they're there out of love, not just to make a quick buck off the name. I did, at least. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 27 2007 12:43 PM I would have to say Raiders for me, though surprisingly it's hard. I know general consensus is Temple is the weakest of the Trilogy, but think about how many definitive Indy moments are in that film as well...The minecart, the Raft Mt Ride, Beating heart removal, Snake surprise, and of course the incomparable Short Round. I even love the scene with Kate when she falls in the water "I hate elephants, I hate being wet, and I HATE YOOUUU!" Without a doubt the strongest trilogy ever made in my book. Star Wars included. Elixor writes: on Jun 27 2007 12:53 PM I say Raiders for sure. To give Temple it's due though, the opening scene with Indy getting poisoned and the chaos that ensues (Indy trying to get the antidote while Willie tries to get the diamond) is classic. Probably one of my favorite scenes. The sacrificing of people into the lava and ripping out their hearts was cool when I was a kid too. Don't forget the room full of bugs. I guess when you see these movies is important too :) All three movies are solid. (Reply to this) |

ClarkieDude writes: on Jun 27 2007 03:51 PM Temple of Doom From its colorfully dazzling opening sequence, to that mind-blowing aerial escape using a rubber raft, to Indy and Short Round taking on Temple baddies simultaneously, to the absolutely amazing (look, Ma, no CGI!) chase through the undergound tunnels like a rollercoaster on acid, Spielberg's second Indiana Jones installment remains my favorite. (Plus it constituted my first real date with my high school sweetheart--and an extremely memorable French kiss afterwards.) (Reply to this) |

the-russian writes: on Jun 27 2007 05:43 PM Yeah, Temple of Doom is definitely my favorite. There was too much comedy in Last Crusade for an Indiana Jones movie. Like the original Star Wars trilogy, the second was the darkest and most entertaining. I remember Temple of Doom genuinely scaring the sh!t out of me when I was younger. Oh, and it doesnt fall back on the old cliches either (Nazis as the enemy, supernatural Christian artifacts,...) (Reply to this) |

JUDGE DREDD writes: on Jun 27 2007 05:46 PM Cant argue with that theClarkiedude ^^^ raiders is still my fave, but all 3 are solid, on a par with star wars i reckon, except Empire rules them all! (Reply to this) |

wilkiedriver writes: on Jun 27 2007 06:28 PM In reply to this comment (#871282) "Mola Ram! Prepare to meet Kali... in Hell!" Ahhhh...my list of the Star Wars/Indians Jones movies. 1. Empire 2. Crusade 3. New Hope 4. Raiders 5. RoJ 6. Temple Temple is at the bottom because it gets a little slow after the Hong Kong scene and before they actually get caught by Mola Ram's thugs. After that it get reeaaal good. (Reply to this) |

MMacKK writes: on Jun 27 2007 07:39 PM Last Crusade: It was the first I saw, and I thought it was the best film ever...I'd still agree with it being far and away one of the best. Raiders: Close 2nd. Close. Temple: As wilkiedriver said, it gets a little slow, but then oh so good. The Jones Trilogy is far and away the best, even surpassing Star Wars OT in my books. (Reply to this) |

blackmavrik writes: on Jun 28 2007 08:43 AM Hard to decide... This is so hard to decide because each movie had something about it that made it unique, and yet, added to the mythology of Indiana Jones as a whole. This is evident in the split of people who favor each of the three movies. Personally, I would say that Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favorite. It is the classic adventure serial with an exotic locale, tons of fun action (which we all must admit that CGI is great until you see it over and over again until you begin to know instinctively when it is being used), a beautiful and firey woman, and a little magic mixed with history. Plus, this movie has the iconic Indy images that everyone remembers (the giant rolling boulder, "Asps, very dangerous...", Indy punching out Nazis, etc.). In this regard, the following movies were great because they kept many of the same motifs that made Raiders a great movie (bugs and rats, Nazis and Thuggees, real action, and the same adventure serial feel). However, these movies had to differentiate themselves somehow or use some kind of gimmicky twist to bring something new to the story. I loved Short Round and Henry Jones Sr. but I always felt they were added as a bonus feature to add to the evergrowing expectations surrounding these movies. Thus, I am looking forward to Shia LaBeouf in Indy 4 because he is the latest in this trend. On another note, the Star Wars movies are excellent classics but I must say that I find myself watching Indiana Jones more often. (Reply to this) |

JUDGE DREDD writes: on Jun 28 2007 05:17 PM In reply to this comment (#871285) HAN SOLO V INDY ??? In response to this question, all i can say is, THANK GOD they are the same man, because I almost find it impossible to decide! Both characters are on an equal par! If my life depended on choosing though, although I prefer the Star Wars movies, I would have to go with Indy. reason... Only because in Indy he is the main character and we see more of him. But if theyd have ever given solo his own Films, The fabric of the universe would probably unravel killing us all! Impossible to judge that one! (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 29 2007 08:02 AM Tough Call but I'm gonna have to go with Indy. Reasoning: 1. Indy would have blown Luke out of his boots if he'd given him any crap about his ride. 2. Shortround is funnier than Chewy. Please don't pull my arms off. 3. Han may have gotten the girl, but Indy got 3 separate ones one of which was the directors wife. He even sorta converted the Nazi chick and made her less evil. Pimpin. 4. If Darth Vader would have taken Indy's guy like in Empire Indy could still Bullwhip him into next Tuesday. 5. Indy's dad is James Bond. 6. No allegations of Homoerotic Wookie-love. What happens in space stays in space :) (Reply to this) |
