Wahlberg Joins "Departed" Cast
Mark Wahlberg is in negotiations to join Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon in the cast of Martin Scorsese's next film, "The Departed," according to the Hollywood Reporter. A remake of the Hong Kong film "Infernal Affairs," "The Departed" will be produced for Warner Bros. The film involves a cop and a gangster who each infiltrates the opposite respective organization and tries to discover the other's identity as a mole.

on Jan 24 2005 03:01 PM The Departed, I think, will be one of Scorsese's best movies yet. With Damon and Dicaprio how can you go wrong. The only part I dont like is that Orlando Bloom is in it. Sorry, but i cant get over the fact that he looks like a girl. Anyways, with Marky Mark in the movie now, it makes me want to see it even more. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 24 2005 11:25 PM In reply to this comment (#819245) [b]pipe dream[/b] Not only would it be expensive to have 4 A-list male leads in one movie (Bloom is a borderline A-list), anyone who has seen the HK version would know there's just no room for 4 main characters. I'm not even sure how they plan to squeeze Wahlberg into the movie. He's far too young to play any of the bosses. Knowing Scorsese, however, he'll probably stretch the movie to 3+ hours and find a way to create 25 new characters. Let's hope he doesn't ruin the basic premise of the movie. (Reply to this) |
on Jan 25 2005 04:23 PM idk i thought ocean's 11 was great and that had, in my opinion, more then 4 a list actors/actresses, so i think martin scorsese could pull it off. his other remake cape fear didnt seem to do a terrible job, but that is my opinion. (Reply to this) |
