Relating this back to the topic.... INTO THE WILD, I'm told, is pretty faithful to the novelisation. And that is a pretty fantastic movie - so just more proof that you don't need to change what already works.

On a more positive note, I think "Into The Wild" is *better* than the book. Doesn't happen often :)

No no i wasn't calling it a bad series at all. I just feel like they could have adapted the books better. And i think this would have made the movies even better. One thing that kind of pissed me off as i was watching the special features on the dvd is peter jackson saying the genius of the writers was that they were comfortable in making changes to tolkiens books. This just seemed really arrogant to me because tolkien was a amazing author and i don't think they should have made as many changes as they did.
