Doug Liman Talks Valerie Plame Biopic
Reveals identity of his leading lady.

Doug Liman's latest project, the Hayden Christensen/Samuel L. Jackson sci-fi actioner Jumper, hasn't even hit theaters yet -- but he's already talking about what's next for him.

The director, set to direct Warner Bros.' planned biopic about outed CIA operative Valerie Plame, has revealed who will play Plame (try saying that ten times fast) in his film. Ready? Read on:

"Nicole Kidman. She's perfect if you've ever met Valerie. Nicole was supposed to play Jane Smith in 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith.' We owe a movie together! That's an unrequited thing between me and an actor where I fell in love with them for a role and never get to consummate it."

Having never met Valerie Plame, we're forced to take Liman at his word -- and stand in awe of his way with an analogy. As MTV Movies points out in its exclusive report on the Kidman reveal, bringing Plame's professional life to the big screen will be an iffy proposition, given the way her memoir was censored by the CIA. Liman isn't worried:

"I have a really, really insane take on how to tell it. It's so outrageous. Ultimately, I'd be doing something no one has ever done before. Therefore it's automatically appealing to me. I'm just starting to explore whether [what I have in mind] is even possible to do."

Something no one's ever done before? Something that might even be impossible? What could Liman be talking about here? Let your imaginations run wild, RT faithful!

Was actually hoping for Virginia Madsen. She has the perfect look for the role.

Yeah Virgina Madison would be good for this, but I'm fine with Kidman. I think this could be a good movie, I like DOug Liman. Even though I hear JUMPER is mediocre I'm still looking foward to it. GO, SWINGERS, and THE BOURNE IDENTITY were really good movies, I also thought Mr. and Mrs. Smith was good.

Yeah; given just how financially and artistically successfull recent-event films have been lately this is definitely a good idea(rolls eyes)

I actually think Valerie Plame is hotter than Nicole Kidman. But that's just me.

This could be a good movie.

I've seen most of the real-event movies of recent times, and I liked them mostly, but I can see how some may go, "yawn."

But this one is a story I've followed for years and it has aspects to it that could raise it to an altogether different level than, say Rendition.

I do worry that we are living in a time when people are so tired of what's happening that they are beginning to not care anymore, and that's just the opposite of what we should be doing. What happened to Valerie Plame was an insult to our very soul as a nation.
