If Reitman's film gets closer than most to covering the bases, there remain huge gaps in plausibility and a romantic subplot any ten-year-old could tell you is just plain icky.

With a heart of purest mush, Kindergarten Cop still manages to be generally entertaining.

[Director Reitman's] got a way with kids, and found a remarkable ensemble of 30 antic urchins to work with, cashing in on kindergarten's comic terrain and the blurted brutal honesty of the kids.

Kindergarten Cop is made up out of parts that shouldn't fit, but somehow they do, making a slick entertainment out of the improbable, the impossible, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Fans of Schwarzenegger's more violent pictures will probably be put off by the film's inherent case of the 'cutes.' Parents will no doubt be very put off by the violence and dark themes.

In Kindergarten Cop, he plays off the Schwarzenegger image more gleefully and successfully than ever before.

hough Schwarzenegger remains to acting what ham hocks are to a cheese course, he manages against all odds to be appealing as the Austrian au pair. Think of it as To Conan With Love.

A nice, funny, lightweight, non-filling, entertaining film, perfect for the holiday season.

A mish-mash of violence, psycho-drama and lukewarm kiddie comedy.

Ah-nold and an adorable ferret... a daffy but dandy duo.

Actually fairly entertaining, buoyed by Schwarzenegger's self-deprecating charm and easy chemistry with his capable costar, Pamela Reed, and the hammiest bunch of tykes ever assembled for a movie.

Arnold tries to be funny, but throws punches better than delivering punch lines.

Watching the kids subdue Ah-Nuld is funny, but much of the film is wildly inconsistent.

Surrounding Arnold with the giddy kiddies is a shameless, gimmicky stunt. But what the heck...Reitman's actioner still works as a zesty vehicle for The Muscled One.

Ahnold's best foray into comedy territory ... for whatever that's worth.
