Aspiring filmmakers Phillip Fellini (Sam Maccarone) and Forrest Fonda (Preston Lacy) share a lifelong dream of making an award-winning documentary that would get them out of their trailer park and into Hollywood’s upper crust. They stumble upon a cave-dwelling, beer-guzzling human oddity named Lucky “Cucumber” Cavanaugh (Dian Bachar) in the wilds of Missouri, a man rumored to possess the most extraordinary luck on Earth. Phillip and Forrest believe they’ve found their ticket to fame and fortune, only to learn that Lucky’s incredible luck always results in devastating consequences for himself and everyone around him. What ensues is debauchery of the worst kind as Phillip, Forrest and Lucky battle gun-toting drug addicts, mental patients, sex offenders, alcoholism and, of course, each other. With mockumentary wit in the style of Christopher Guest and an originality of vision comparable to Napoleon Dynamite, The Life of Lucky Cucumber is guaranteed to offend, anger and stupefy while causing convulsions of laughter.
