While Archie Bunker was famous for being a bigoted right-winger, Maude (Arthur, GOLDEN GIRLS) was an upper-middle-class feminist. Married to her fourth husband (Bill Macy, ANALYZE THIS), Maude was the head of a family that included her divorced daughter, Carol (Adrienne Barbeau, THE FOG), and her son, Philip (Brian Morrison). Her conservative neighbor, Arthur (Conrad Bain, DIFF'RENT STROKES), and Maude's maid, Florida (Esther Rolle, GOOD TIMES), completed the talented cast. Like its predecessor, MAUDE didn't shy away from controversy. The most notable story arc of the first season was Maude's struggle with the decision to get an abortion in the two-part episode "Maude's Dilemma." This release includes every episode of the first season, featuring guest stars such as Rue McClanahan, John Amos, and Tom Bosley. [More]
