The ice cream man tries to foil Max's delivery of the newspaper. The animal shelter where Max bottle-raised a chimp is closing. The school bully, Troy (Noel Fisher), humiliates Max in front of everybody. Principal Jindraike (Larry Miller) threatens Max because he disrupts the school assembly. And to top it off, Max's parents tell him that they're planning to move to Chicago at the end of the week. With the help of his two kooky friends, Megan (Zena Grey) and Robe (Josh Peck), Max contrives an elaborate retaliation at school. Among other things, the threesome initiate an unusually slimy food fight in the cafeteria, and they terrorize Troy by dressing up as a television character called McGoogle the Highland Frog (reminiscent of Barney). When Max finds out that his parents have changed their minds about moving to Chicago, he must apologize for all the mayhem he's caused and say he's sorry to all of the students and teachers whose feelings he hurt. Actor Linz plays Max with a winning gusto and Miller is funny as a power hungry bureaucrat. Pop music stars Lil' Romeo and Myra have small roles as Max's classmates. [More]

Reviews for Max Keeble's Big Move
Young kids may like it (others stay far away), but it is guaranteed that no audience member, young or old, will be able to relate to it.
Not much better than the easily forgettable straight to video and made for TV efforts it so apparently resembles.
Exactly which children Disney hopes to captivate with Keeble's Big Movea little unclear.
Bland, occasionally funny Disney comedy about a wayward seventh-grader.
If there's no way to avoid seeing Keeble's Big Move, take along a book, ideally a hefty one. With the proper arm speed and angle of release, you can probably nail the projectionist.
Wittier and more visually clever than it has to be, but you can still guess the rest if you're over 10 years old.
Children may enjoy its food fights, barf gags, slimy gross-outs, kid-power fantasies and adults' comic discomfiture, but there's not much here for anyone over 12.
Schoolyard bullying is a touchy issue these days, having been pinpointed as the root of many larger crises such as school shootings. Too bad Keeblesed the opportunity to teach kids something about it.
While it far too often lapses into retread juvenile slapstick humour and doesn’t finish particularly strong, there is at least a whiff of originality wafting from this one.
This amusingly stylized comedy can be savored as a wholesomely sadistic treat.
Like Freddy Got Fingered with cafeteria food replacing the body excretions.
Given the scarcity of kid-appropriate fare in the marketplace these days, the feeble Keeble will probably move more tickets than it ought to, but it will never be mistaken for a keeper.
