Reviews for Mickey Blue Eyes
At times, the laughs are reminiscient of the kind inspired by the bumbling Peter Sellers.
Fall-down funny - on par with Notting Hill, South Park, and Austin Powers 2 as one of the best comedies of the summer.
Count Mickey Blue Eyes as Viterelli's second solid mob comedy of the year!
The writing is congruously witty and smart, and the successful humor really is worth the price of admission.
Caan, Grant and Tripplehorn give good, solid performances as the leads.
The movie's main asset is Grant, whose shtick as the befuddled Englishman never changes much, but somehow never seems to grow old.
With a script loaded with sharp lines delivered with punch and direction that paces the material superbly, Mickey Blue Eyes proves that even Hollywood's love for scripts about the mob need not be circular - filed as antiquated.
We've seen this fish - out - of - water plot before, but clever writing and careful casting give it a fresh bite and looniness.
