Reviews for Mickey Blue Eyes
Grant handles the slapstick humor gracefully and speaks his lines with sincerity and warmth.
Mickey is a limply derivative, disappointingly trivial and hokey fish-out-of-water crime comedy!
Eventually, the movie reaches a point where sheer plot contrivance is the only way out, and a lot of steam is lost when the FBI gets involved and the actual wedding ceremony approaches.
In Mickey Blue Eyes, Grant is repeatedly mortified, humiliated, and otherwise pained, which means there is much for us to smile at.
Grant is always a pleasure to watch, and Caan looks like he's having the time of his life!
Mickey Blue Eyes has most of the ingredients in place for another one of those married-to-the-mob comedies, but the central character has to hold it together, and Hugh Grant is wrong for the role.
the goods are a day late and a dollar short -- how apropos of the film itself.
Has more than enough laughs to justify its silly, scatterbrained premise.
