Baldwin took a similarly fanciful history-mining approach for Tribulation 99, but Mock Up on Mu is more than twice as long and determinedly more obscure.

Reviews for Mock Up on Mu
Reads like the love child of Jean-Luc Godard's Histoire du Cinema and Carl Reiner's Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.
Baldwin's narrative is not easy to follow—the tone is simultaneously hysterical and uninflected—but, as with any religion or conspiracy theory, his method is characterized by a logic beyond logic.
By turns absorbing, confounding, exhausting and altogether stranger than most fiction, Mock Up on Mu, comes close to defying categorization.
We can rejoice that San Francisco’s Craig Baldwin still cuts up Z-movie turds into magnificently obsessive sci-fi collages -- even if his project seems more zine era than blog.
