Will Ferrell Nixes "Elf 2" But Digs "Old School 2"?

Moviehole has an interview coming up with popular funnyman Will Ferrell, and the curly-haired kook had a few interesting things to say about a handful of possible sequels...

From Moviehole: "In an interview with Moviehole today, Will Ferrell denounced plans for an "Elf 2" stating that although it was in the works - New Line had tried to talk him into doing a sequel to the family comedy hit - he rejected the idea.

"Elf 2 got killed," says Ferrell. "I killed Elf 2."

New Line’s Toby Emmerich said they would only ever do the sequel – which New Line exec VP of production Kent Alterman was rumoured to be directing – if it were with Will. Since its not, it isn’t happening.

As for "Old School 2," that’s still a possibility. "Old School 2 is apparently being written," he says."

Click here for the report, and check back later in the week for Moviehole's full-length interview piece.

They are two of my favorite Ferrell movie's, but I really don't think Elf needs a sequel, and I'm glad they won't make one without Ferrell cause that would be a piece of crap. Another Old School would kick ass though.

Holy crap, an actor making sense!

...on that note, is Halle Barry still saying she's interested in Catwoman 2?

I liked Elf but what could they really do with a sequel?

I think Santa Clause 2 and 3 killed Elf not Ferrell.

Yeah, whatever... Same old Elvis Presley movie, different title. Sorry, my mistake, I meant to say Same old Will Ferrel movie, different title. Come to think of it, outside of the fact that Elvis could at least sing, is there really any difference between Elvis Presley movies and Will Ferrell movies? Same old predictable crap; movie after movie afer movie ...

i really dont see how they can continue the old school story line. ferrell didnt even have an integral role in old school. glad to hear there will be no elf 2 for the same reason.

Elf didn't really do it for me, I'm glad they're not doing a sequel. I don't see where they could take the plot in Old School 2, besides "These grownups are going back to college... AGAIN!" Will needs to stick to movies like Anchorman And Talladega Nights.
