Produced by the BBC, this show follows in the great British tradition of high quality drama shows, and features Derek Jacobi, Jeremy Irons, and Penelope Keith among the cast members. Philip Latham stars as Plantagenet Palliser, a politician who appears to be in a highly unsuitable marriage to the highfalutin Lady Glencora (Susan Hampshire). As the series progresses, Glencora accepts her situation, and even comes to the aid of her husband in his political career. Other characters also play out political roles, and often mirror the situation of the principle couple by carrying the burden of their relationship issues into their work lives. A huge hit on PBS, this release features the show in its entirety. [More]
