Simply lacks the wit, panache, surprises and irresistible characters that delight kids of all ages.

Reviews for Paulie
Given the merits of the production, which is debut-directed by John Roberts from a script by Laurie Craig, this bird deserves to fly.
This live-action comedy has its faults (in particular, a couple of out-of-place flatulence jokes), but it's also more clever and kind-hearted than you might expect.
A convenient, unprepossessing time-waster for Saturday afternoon kiddies.
Paulie has elements of a good weepy, but overall it never quite gels beyond being a passable novelty.
The film is aimed at children, I suppose, although I don't think they'll like Paulie all that much. I didn't.
A movie that never quite lives up to its promise but manages to charm nevertheless.
Director John Roberts is abetted by some good acting, particularly from the always outstanding Rowlands.
