"The Plot Against Harry" failed to gain distribution when it was completed in 1969, but was revived 20 years later after a film festival exhibition. When a Jewish gangster known as "Harry P." is paroled after serving a prison sentence, he finds that his familiar world of racketeering and his neighborhood have changed beyond all recognition. To make matters worse, Harry gets a further reality shock after he runs into his estranged ex-wife and a pregnant daughter he's never even seen before. Harry tries his hand at the straight life and goes into business as a caterer for synagogues and bar mitzvahs. To earn the respect of his now grownup children, he gradually transforms himself from hoodlum into upstanding citizen. [More]
