When he marries a 17... Uncle Daniel Ponder lives comfortably on his fortune in a sleepy little town. His heart is made of even greater gold and his generosity is starting to alarm family members. When he marries a 17 year old country girl, no one is surprised that she becomes the recipient of many of his lavish gifts. However, the town is soon startled by the disappearance of the young bride and the philanthropic country gentleman is put on trial for her murder. Though the subject matter sounds heavy, this lighthearted tale is based on a comedic novel by Eudora Welty. The trial is a literary comic masterpiece and is portrayed in this version with appropriate hilarity. [More]
