The pipe-puffing sailor caught the attention of animator Max Fleischer in 1933, and he made his screen debut in a 1933 Betty Boop short. From there, Popeye became an enduring star in his own right. This 2-DVD edition contains 34 Popeye shorts from both the Fleischer and Famous Studios periods, including "Sinbad" (1936), "Ali Baba" (1937), and "Aladdin" (1939).
