Somebody will pop in here any minute to make fun of that name... No, I refuse...

Well, after reading what Rodriguez had to say I don't care what the dude's name is, I'm excited. Especially since Rodriguez is overseeing it that closely and is practically in control of everything. Also using Nicotero and crew! Oh yeah, I'm there!

What a ****ing ...Do I have to say it?

Actually, I think it's a wonderful cosmic irony. "who's manning that new predator reboot?" "I don't know, some Nimrod."

Counting down everyone...

Calling someone a "nimrod" always makes me chuckle.

Actually Nimrod originally meant "skilled hunter", so the name is particularly fitting in that sense. Kind of cool really.

The D.: I still don't like the idea of calling this a reboot. It's not going to negate Predator, there for it's just a way to forget AVP 1 and 2. That's not really a reboot, it's just another movie with the Predator aliens. The fact that it's being made outside the studio system relieves me. I love the last quotes in the interview: "Do you think it's possible to make a kickass movie with Fox?" "I wouldn't know until I tried it, this is being made by Trouble Maker Studios."

Nimrod cannot be his real name, it just can't! Well that should be good for some laughs during the opening credits.

nathanpoitras: He's not American, so his name doesn't have the same connotations in his country as they do in ours. Besides isn't this a little juvenile? I could understand if a mentally handicapped person came up and saw the screen with the name Nimrod on it and started laughing, but making fun of someone because they have a name that in our language would be the equivalent of idiot is childish and just too easy.

I really liked Vacancy, one of the few horror movies that creeped me out. Mainly not for what you saw, but what you didn't see. Which I think is exactly what spooked me on the original Predator movie.

Yeah, I know nothing about the dude and he many be awesome. I'm pulling for Rodriguez here. Maybe he will pull an "Aliens" with this. God knows Predator could use a respectable sequel.

I was rooting for Neil Marshall getting the job, but could be worse. Antal is a completely unknown quantity to me, but better an unknown than someone I know I don't like. Here's hoping he does a great job; the Predator deserves as much.

nathanpoitras: It would be a stupid name if he was born in America, but he wasn't, so it's really not a stupid name. Your perception of the name is stupid.

Good Lord, his name could be Count Retard of Dumbwack-Fukwit and I wouldn't care, he's supposed to bring Predator back to the screen in full bloody glory, and that's all!! Kontroll was cool, Rodriguez is trustworthy, I'm excited.

Rodriguez isn't that good (his early films were ok, but he got worse).... He's nominated this "unknown" to direct it....how much worse could it get?

Predator needs an "A" class director to take the reigns, if not, the franchises joins the AvP crap...

Neil Marshall would have been 10 times better.

Got a bad feeling about this remake/sequel/reimaging...

An "A" class director like McTiernan was back then? Neil Marshall - agreed. He would have been 10 times better for almost anything released lately.

I actually did not really enjoy the descent that much it was alright but, nothing to write home about it kinda dull so when i heard that the director was not doing it I was ok with that. I did see the movie vacancy and I thought that was pretty good it some intense moments in it to so im kinda glad the director who did vacancy is doing it rather than the guy who did the descent.
