It seems Prunella's father died while in Queenie's company -- as he was trying to have his way with her. To escape the repercussions of this tragedy, Queenie and her mother flee India for England. Once there, Queenie changes her name to Dawn Avalon and gets a job dancing in a nightclub. Her alluring routine attracts movie producer David Konig, who offers her a starring role in his grand epic.
