Has not a trace of what made the early episodes of the cartoon fun, and even at a slight 80 minutes, is a complete waste of time.

Reviews for The Rugrats Movie
A host of cooler-than-cool voices/cameos (Reed, Anderson, Curry and the B52s) and throwaway humour do keep the adults happy the whole time.
There's something about the film's roving sympathy that gives it surprising depth, mocking and embracing its characters -- adults and kids -- in quick succession.
Fun for kids, but, despite some adult references, appeal for the over 10s is limited.
Those unfamiliar with the series will have a chance to marvel at Klasky and Csupo's refreshing innovations: their affectionate play with traditional presentations of 'sweet' baby behaviour and 'pretty' toddler looks.
The Rugrats Movie is more like a pleasant Sunday drive in a big smooth sedan than the TV show's riotous joyrides in a fast, shiny convertible.
An embarrassingly juvenile production that would seem more at home in the midst of Saturday morning cartoons than on a big screen.
