Whereas the first movie was on Carter's turf, and the second was set in Lee's homeland, this outing finds both Carter and Lee out of their element in Paris, dealing not only with criminals, but also with the quirks of French culture. Along the way, Lee must confront his old friend Kenji (Hiroyuki Sanada) in order to save the day. Fresh off of his highly successful (though critically maligned) "threequel" X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, Ratner tackles the third chapter of his own popular series, which follows the second movie by six years. Once again, Tucker provides the wisecracks, while Chan, who tones down the acrobatics, remains the emotional center of the franchise. Though Sanada (SUNSHINE, RINGU) and Von Sydow (MINORITY REPORT, THE SEVENTH SEAL) add a bit of gravitas to the film, and Polanski amuses with his rare acting appearance, RUSH HOUR 3 isn't quite as quick on its feet as previous installments, but it still provides plenty of slapstick comedy and relatively light action sequences, making it most readily appealing to teens. Two hours of non-stop, ear-shattering, humourless shrieking. It's simply unbearable. You soon find yourself begging for him to die.

Pretty agonising, from the misogynist display of female flesh to a truly horrific musical number to the no-longer-amusing closing credits outtakes.

Look, it’s so dumb, I could easily give this one star – but I’m giving it two. It was entertaining, so sue me.

You have to wonder, what Max Von Sydow and Roman Polanski are doing propping up the cast of a picture whose action beats, if neatly staged, can't hold a candle to The Bourne Ultimatum's, and whose so-called comedy depends on reinforcing insulting ra

Only the prospect of the outtakes and Chan's flubbed chopsocky stunts kept me going to the end, and even they turned out to be duds.

The curse of the terrible 'threequels' continues with Rush Hour 3. Infecting this third movie is an extra, deeply unpleasant level of racism that we haven't seen before in the series.

Disappointing threequel that lacks the spark of the previous two films and resorts to grafting dreadful jokes and lacklustre action sequences onto a nonsensical plot.

Depressingly, the legendary Max von Sydow and Roman Polanski pop up in small parts. They must have been desperate for the cash. My advice is to save yours.

If this is car-crash cinema, it is a motorway pile-up of the sort that leaves a ten-junction tailback.

Like Lethal Weapon, this franchise has become lazier and less thrilling with each instalment. Hopefully, unlike Lethal Weapon, they’ll stop at Part Three.

A dated, stale, anti-American comedy. I hope they all make enough money never to make another Rush Hour movie again.
