Christina Kinsey (Susan Dey, THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY, LA LAW) is headed down a dead-end street, taking drugs with her addict boyfriend while hanging on to a job that passes her up for promotion year after year. Her relationship with her mother (Piper Laurie) is strained to say the least, as she disapproves heartily of her daughter's lifestyle despite her own chemical dependencies. Things are shaken up a bit when Christina gets pregnant, and her premature daughter is born with a cocaine addiction. Social worker Flo Crawford (Lorraine Toussaint) is assigned to make sure Christine is a fit for motherhood, and at first the hard-nosed mother of three is decidedly opposed, taking the child away and threatening adoption. Faced with this prospect, however, Christine finally begins to get her life together, motivated by her love for her daughter and the strength of someone who believes in her. [More]
