Predictably Icky New "Saw 3" Teaser
If there's one thing Lionsgate is good at, it's hyping, marketing, and selling its horror flicks to the genre fans. Those who just can't wait for the studio's latest gory offering, Darren Bousman's "Saw 3," will be happy to know there's a brand-new teaser up at Yahoo! Movies.
Click here for the teaser clip.
Opening October 27th, "Saw 3" stars some old pals (Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Dina Meyer) and some new ones (Bahar Soomekh, Angus Macfadyen, Kim Roberts). Based only on the promo clips, it seems that kooky old Jigsaw is branching out with a national reign of terror of some sort. Obviously I'm avoiding thorough synopses and spoilers because, yes, I really like this series.

I Am Remote writes: on Sep 18 2006 03:07 PM I don't understand why a fun and moderately scary series like Saw gets nothing but grief when past, idiotic horror series like Nightmare on Elm St and Friday the 13th get like 12 movies each. (Reply to this) |

I Am Remote writes: on Sep 18 2006 04:48 PM In reply to this comment (#844397) No, but the popularity and support was there in the horror audience to support the making of so many films. The bottom line is, compared to a lot of other crap horror films that come out, the first Saw had a cool premise and passable movie to offer with some genuine scares. Meanwhile "the covenant," "the fog," "pulse," "final destination 25," and countless others muck up the box office. Go see them. (Reply to this) |

RexLaboro writes: on Sep 18 2006 05:21 PM I SawI I SawII will not SawIII Saw was a cool movie with a nice little twist and some true tension. We get to the second one and the elements of killer and the puppet are gone as this guys sits around captured couching like General Grevious. It only has one descent squimer (needles) and then goes into some crap about a female apprentice. First off, the chick is unimposing and how is he going to play master when supposedly he's so sick he should have died 10 minutes into SawII. I almost want to see it to witness just how bad it's going to be. (Reply to this) |

edgarandstephen writes: on Sep 18 2006 06:11 PM the saw movies are fun to watch. i thought the second one was clever enogh...obviously their not trying to win an oscar, but it's ok to have a little fun at the movies....nothing like a little American gore every once in awhile -it's better than all that lame Japenese PG-13 "horror" crap (Reply to this) |

TheBlackGuy writes: on Sep 19 2006 01:46 AM You people are all crazy The saw movies are terrible. They remind me of some low budget straight to HBO crappy movie. These movies were based offf of one cool premise that was executed very poorly. The first one was horrible, and the second one was even worse. For someone to hope that the third will be any good is beyond me. (Reply to this) |

JackHorner1979 writes: on Sep 19 2006 10:18 AM I am God. Kneel before me. I had no idea my words were so powerful, nor were your human sensibilities, so fragile. It's a big tough world out there kid, if you can't take the mere ramblings from an unknown person on a message board, you have no chance out there. Good luck, despite the overwhelming odds. Now back to the discussion: Films like Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street seem to garnish more support, than say lackluster films like Saw, due to the era in which these films came out. No one today is oblivious to the tongue and cheek reaction these films get today, but back in the day, these films were the pinnacle of horror invention and application starting with Halloween. The problem is, Saw never transcended the genre. It didn't do anything remotely frightening and the plot and characters reactions were so ludicrious it played to the simplicity that we have seen before. These films require the characetrs no room for independent thought and the killer has all the angles covered, before the characters even consider them. Blah. (Reply to this) |
