Seeking recovery from the traumatic event, Lou travels with her live-in girlfriend, Alex (Patsy Kensit), to a secluded country estate on the remote Shelter Island. But the women's privacy is once again threatened by an invasive local sheriff (Chris Penn) and a menacing stranger (Stephen Baldwin) who arrives at their door during a violent thunderstorm.
