Reviews
[Director] Ziv's relative sense of balance and context is admirable, though the whole thing may be too broadly focused to sharpen anyone's perceptions of this conflict. Then again, maybe that's too much to ask of any film on a horribly open-ended subject.
So, you had to be there? Not really. The Middle East for Dummies gets the job done better and leaves you with less of a headache.
A mixture of archival footage, recent interviews and reenactments, the film gives a solid, if rather dry, overview of events.
Given the current-day significance, Six Daysshould have been fascinating. Sadly, it is not.
Six Days makes the potent case that in taking over all of Jerusalem, Israel turned its greatest military triumph into a Pyrrhic victory. A debatable thesis? Yes, but also one that asks the price of certainty.
Fascinating look back at the 1967 war which created the conditions that have led to suicide bombs, 9/11 and other terrorist forms of retaliation against Zionist domination.
Short on insight and artistry, Six Days takes a dry approach to the hottest of conflicts.
