The film avoids sentimentality, yet there’s no denying that we sighted people end up feeling sorry for them — something I don’t think they would want.

Reviews for Slepe Lásky
This film has enough quirky charm, quiet humour and shining humanity to be well worth a look.
Deliberately intimate, while never invasive, it’s a film that allows and shows vulnerability while never exploiting it.
A film that is unashamedly sentimental and all the better for it. It's not at all sickly and even quite acerbic at times, but it is sweet.
Some surprising magic is worked by this careful Slovakian documentary.
A perceptive and warmly empathetic film that thankfully manages to avoid the common pitfalls of schmaltz and pathos that are so often befallen when dealing with such subject matter.
Using real people and a makeshift docu-drama style, Lehotsky provides a humbling insight into the lives of these folk, their hopes and fears and noble persistence in the face of a crushing adversity.
Tender and moving, this offbeat gem isn’t afraid to swap its docu-realism for outlandish fantasy.
While mostly a straight-up doc, the film's enlivened by the occasional surreal flourish.
It’s hard to define what kind of film Blind Loves is, but whether you categorise it as animated docu-drama or perhaps as docu-fantasy, it is a peculiar, affecting piece.
Outstandingly directed and powerfully emotional, this is an extraordinary documentary that's by turns heartbreaking, gently funny, extremely tense and deeply moving.
An intriguing blend of documentary, fiction and fantasy ... it's not an easy movie, but adventurous audiences will love it.
Blind Loves is a spectacular revelation about the world of those forever in the dark. Their illuminating personal stories can't help but lift the spirit of any viewer.
