Ill defunately be seeing Speed Racer tomorrow, no matta what the reviews say: I kinda was expecting bad reviews. I still think it looks cool.

seriously, most of these critics went in a bad mindset and were

just looking to fail it. These idiots expect a masterpiece and when they just

put a fun movie out there..these losers try to destroy it. Still, I'm hoping

the critics the actual next batch of reviews push up the T-meter at least to

50%. And yet no matter i will be seeing this film and lets not forget that

the r.t. community is keeping the movie at above 70% of freshness!!! Oh, and

if Speed Racer doesn't get better reviews than "What Happens in Las Vegas"

...then i will be one depressed CoUcH ToMaToE :(

I'm going to see Redbelt anyway and trying to find a theatre playing The Fall. Speedracer'll get the kids in and still make loot so will that Vegas trash. I'll support Mamet and since I loved The Cell's visuals I'm trying to get to The Fall.

movie :( That is a notion no one deserves....well expect an Uwe Boll movie.

And John Z. Delorean, i probably would see Red Belt but its not playing

anywhere close to me :(

Eh, I'll see Speed Racer anyway. It may be crap, maybe it won't be to me. Besides, a Tomatometer in the 30s means it still has SOME redeeming qualities.

And I agree with CTD: I so hope Vegas doesn't beat it when it comes to the score. God, it just looks so damn trite...

Innovation doesn't equal a quality film. You can't expect a film to be carried by its "innovation" if it really is horrible. I think it looks like a neon pile of vomit masquerading as kiddy entertainment with a paper-thin plot and dialogue that makes George Lucas' work look like genius. At least that was my impression from the trailers. I dunno, maybe thats the way the cartoon was, I've never seen it, and if that really is what you go for, more power to ya. I'm just throwing my two cents out there like everyone else, and those two cents are banking on the movie stinking worse than a week-old cow carcass left out in the sun. Ha.

Speed racer is going to tank at the BO. With TCoN:Prince Caspian opening next week, whatever money it makes, it makes this weekend. I'd love this movie to be good but the outlook is grim. I'll wait and see what shakes out here the next couple of days before I decide if I'm gonna piss off money on this one.

How can we only be at the second week into the big summer blockbuster season and already hit a lull?? These two movies look horrible. I wouldn't see a movie starring Ashton Kutcher for free.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I knew that Speed Racer was going to have be a flop with the critics. And "What Happends in Vegas" doesn't meet my standards for a Friday Night at the movies anyway. Oh well, Iron Man it is.

i really dont see Speed racer as this crazy leap in CG in movies, i have always thought it looked like a video game cinematic with more detailed lighting in the vain of a mix between ridge racer, gran turismo and mostly Wipeout. the cartoon was cheaply animated and horribly voice acted but was fun in that it was as serious as Astro Boy, where even though there are seemingly adult themes or storylines, they never really influenced the fast car races/robot boy blowing stuff up

I don't know what the recent critic backlash here at RT is about. I think the critics know more than you 14-year-olds, they're paid to give their opinions on a subject they're relatively well-educated about. Go see it if you really want to so desperately, but the critics are simply warning you that you shouldn't expect a good movie, let alone a masterpiece. Critics are just as capable of enjoying dumb summmer movies as you all are (check out Spider-Man 2's Tomatometer), but they sure didn't enjoy Speed Racer. I think a 30% Tomatometer is reason to at least be wary, but whatever, you guys go ahead and blow your money and keep yelling about how critics don't know a thing.

Well, remember how horrible Rambo (of course the newest one) had horrible ratings? It doesn't apply to this one either (look at how high the grade of Rambo on imdb, sooner or later it owuld be the same in here).

And if not...then it doesnt matter, since R E gave it an A (I think that means either 100 or 95
