I wish McAdams had been originally cast at MJ...

google-images: good choice.
What about MJ; a total "CAT FIGHT"?

and BRUCE CAMPBELL will be the veterinary doctor who will accidentally give THE BLACK CAT steel claws instead of de-clawing her; whoops.

Maybe SAM RAIMI may screen several BLACK CAT movies (The Karloff/Lugosi version and Fulci and Argento [TWO EVIL EYES] and the Roger Corman versions) in order to make some very wild homages or "cinematic-riffs" in SPIDERMAN 4's story.

Homages to other films are so great in movies; give a "clandestine" sense of humor to the action on screen.

Yeah, I was about to say too bad she wasn't rumored to star in Spiderman 1 as Mary Jane. In all honesty and I'm not joking here I think Megan Fox would make a better Black Cat. Now before y'alls heads explode I'm in no way saying Fox is a better actress or even more attractive than McAdams, I don't think she is, I just think McAdams might be a bit too smart for this role. Felecia as I remember her was sort of a vapid thrill seeking rich girl which to me is more Fox's wheelhouse than McAdams'.

I hope Bruce Campbell will get to play Mysterio or Chameleon. The guy deserves a big role and I would be a lot more interested in Spiderman 4 if he got one. He's getting on up in age and this may be his last shot.

Well, I'm still hoping that the second villain is Kraven, and maybe Raimi will give campbell that role?

Kraven would be good too. I don't care which villain Bruce would play, I just want him to have a major role.

LOL. Before our heads explode? Too late, man. But I gotta agree. Speaking of Fox, maybe this is wishful thinking on my part but I so hope she pulls off a good Aspen in the forthcoming Fathom movie. Well, if it does in fact get off the ground.

Yeah, I know. Megan Fox a marine biologist?... But hey, two things. One, she definitely has the look of the character down. No question. And two, well Aspen is not known for being that much of an emotional character. No huge acting talent required.

In addendum, I take a particular interest everytime they take a risk on these properties that showcase female leads. Why? Because like the male heavyweights getting so much attention and play, there are so many of them that could make for pretty amazing films. (I'm still pissed off at the lowbrow take on Catwoman. Wow, talk about a missed opportunity!!)

Anyway, if Fathom turns out well. Imagine, gents! We could see Aphrodite IX, Catwoman and Elektra revisited, Psylocke (who could easily have her own franchise if handed to any writers worth their salt), Storm (who has quite a rich backstory if anyone bothers to explore it), etc etc, and so on and so forth..

I'd rather have Wonder Woman, but since Morena Baccarin is busy with V I'll be patient and wait. Corset and star spangled spanky pants. Genius.

Geez Big Brother, why did you have to go and mention Megan Fox as Cat Woman? Now I have to go and take a shower. A loooooong shower.

Morena Baccarin? I wanna punch you in the face for even teasing me with that idea. lol.

For serious though, there are so so so many of them. So much untapped potential, each one with the inevitable and inexorable bait and hook; sex appeal. Let's face it, right?!

But if we've learned anything from the tragedy of Catwoman, the sex aspect should only be, well, the bait and hook, the starting point. Not the entire idea. In other words, we can never give one of these properties to someone like Michael Bay, for instance, and expect the gold each one of them are worth.

Double standard? Not even close. As heterosexual men we often forget that the sexual aspect of it all is just as much there in the renditions of our beloved male superhero archetypes. Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynolds, all of which, at one point or another, showing off their musculatures as an inseperable staple of their respective hero potrayals. So yeah, it's just as much there but not as readily apparent since, for one, the stories are given more respect and, secondly, there's more objectivity employed in development.

Imagine the same kind of creative zeal applied to the heroines in their transition to the big screen! Catwoman, a very good example to keep referencing, could have been loads of sexy if shallowness and blatant stupidity hadn't won the day. Anyone who assumes that the film was a failure because Hailey Berry was "miscast", as is often said, are missing the point entirely. And so it goes in a circle. Heroine mythologies with great potential keep being bleeded for their potential and falling flat, leaving everyone scratching their heads and wondering why.

Imagine Lara Croft revisited, but explored for the substance. Imagine Angela from Image Comics (the potential for controversy on that one could send its box office through the roof). Chun Li (if they hadn't f.cked it up!). Callisto and Lady Deathstrike. Jean Gray, Huntress, Ronin, f.ckin' Talia al Ghul for crying out loud (here's looking at you, Nolan)!

lol. And so on and so forth, but you guys get the picture. ;-)

Think Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman is probably the best example of what you're talking about. A sexy female comicbook character done right. I don't care if she is 60 I'd still hit that. 4 times if she still has the costume and whip.

Has to be Mysterio. Kraven needs to be too serious and The Chameleon isn't cool enough to be a real threat.

Why is the Lizard story thread taking so long to come to fruition?

Are they saving the best for last?
Worried that the villain wouldn't be popular enough?
Just making this up as they go along?

I'm not even a Spidey fan and even I think it's time to see this character emerge.

lol. Indeed, sir. Indeed. I'm pissed off about Haley Berry's Catwoman for two reasons. One, of course and foremost, the f.cking idiotic writing!! What a waste, man! And two (sigh), the ridiculous costume. She would have easily been a hell of a lot sexier in a costume more like Pfeiffer's (more left to the imagination, more reason to anticipate the scene where she's changing into or out of it; fond memories of Swordfish come to mind). And it would have made more sense, utility-wise.

And, well, sorry bro, but, yeah, a LOT sexier than Pheiffer!! (But we're agreed on the basis of the point made.)

All those things given check marks, now imagine a great story attached. Wow, Hollywood is so stupid...
