Garner Considers Alias Movie and Star Trek
Jennifer Garner gives props to the man who launched her career

No sooner did Alias air its series finale than rumors started flying about a feature film. Jennifer Garner has moved on to film projects and soon Broadway, but she would revive Sydney Bristow under the right circumstances.

"If J.J. [Abrams] were writing it and directing it, then absolutely," she said. "I think we'd all sign on. I mean, it's all in his crazy brain. But I haven't heard. He certainly hasn't mentioned that to me but I'd be there."

Come on, Jen, throw your weight around. "I don't think it's really up to me."

Abrams is currently busy on another high profile project. Only preliminary casting announcements have been made for Star Trek, but Abrams always throws his regulars a bone. Garner would put on Vulcan ears for him if he wants.

"Absolutely. Anything J.J. asked me to do ever, that's a clear 'Don't even worry, the answer's yes.' I owe him."

She'd be hot in the old school trek outfit with the black bowl-cut and pointy ears

I liked the show, but I'm envisioning a Firefly effect with an Alias movie. Lots of die-hard fans anticipating it. A studio spends a ton of money on it. All the principals are involved in making it. It turns out good... And loses a ton of money.

Serenity didn't lose any money. It only cost $39 million to make and grossed just over $40 million. Not a winner by any means, but it at least broke even.

Why doesn't Abrams just cast every horrible actor and actress in the business and finish a dying franchise off. I love Star Trek, but so far with every new news item or rumor this film sounds worse and worse.

The problem with STAR TREK is that its whole universe has been controlled too much by the producers of the various series. Star Trek has always been aimed at the Family market and has never been free to really develop.

I have watched all the episodes of the Original Series, Generations, DS9 and Voyager. I always felt that the franchise was too closely interferred with by Berman and Braga. Granted, they are owed some respect for keeping the Star Trek universe on the small screen, but it wasn't as risque as say, Babylon 5.

I think its about time the fans and newbies were given a real space battle with lots of ships and casualties, no glossing over the events. Gene Roddenberry would be turning over in his grave if he knew Jonathan Frakes had been allowed to direct not one but 2 Star Trek films (arghhhh).

Back to the main subject. I couldn't give a monkeys if Jennifer Gardner stars in this film!

Regards

FURY
